Dr. MARGRIET VAN UNEN-VAN ENK, M.D.
GENERAL PRACTITIONER

Dr. Margriet van Enk is from Holland, where she graduated at the Free University of Amsterdam. She is specialised in Family Medicine and Tropical Medicine (training in tropical diseases and surgery) .She  worked in rural hospitals in Sudan for 3 years, in Yemen for 1 year and in Nazareth Hospital, a mission hospital in Kenya, for 6 years.. In 1991 she started the Karen Surgery with Dr. Judy Shaw. The last 3 years she also worked in Nepal and Peru as a volunteer doctor. In order to keep her Dutch GP license, she does 40 hours of postgraduate CME training per year.

Dr. MARIE-LOUISE CANTAMESSA, MBBS, MPH&TM
GENERAL PRACTITIONER

Dr. Lou Cantamessa is Australian and has lived in Kenya since 1987. She studied medicine at the University of Queensland and has a masters degree in public health and tropical medicine from James Cook University in Australia. Before joining Karen Surgery she worked at Gertrude Gardens Children's Hospital and at Dr Colin Forbes' paediatric clinic in Nairobi. She is a general practitioner with a special interest in child health, routine growth and development checks, and vaccination. She works closely with educational psychologists to treat children with ADHD, and with clinical psychologists to treat adolescents with eating disorders.

Dr. JACQUELINE KITULU, MB.Ch.B
GENERAL PRACTITIONER

Dr. Jackie Kitulu is a Kenyan. She graduated from The University Of Nairobi. She is a general practitioner and she worked at the Nairobi Hospital Accident and Emergency Unit before going into private practice. She has a special interest in emergency training and is a Resuscitation Council of the UK (RCUK) certified instructor running courses at The Nairobi Hospital, Gertrudes Garden Children's Hospital and Aga Khan University Hospital. She is also the current chairperson of The Kenya Medical Women's Association.

Dr. BASIL KING, MBBS(Lond), MRCP(UK), DCH, DObstRCOG

Dr King qualified in medicine at the Royal Free Hospital, London in 1968. He has worked in Zambia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan. He was employed by AMREF 1985 – 2004 running clinics for Maasai, Turkana and Somali nomads. He now works as a general practitioner, partly in Kenya and partly in Britain.

HANNAH MURIMI
PRACTICE NURSE

Hannah Muremi has been the practice nurse at Karen Surgery since 2004. She sees patients for vaccinations, well baby checks, blood pressure monitoring, wound dressings and collecting blood samples.
