Medical Information
The 2022 Southern Hemisphere flu vaccine is available at the Surgery.
Adults over 65, pregnant women, children from age 6 months to 2 years, and anyone with chronic medical conditions such as asthma and diabetes are at increased risk from influenza complications, and are strongly advised to have the flu vaccine.
HPV Vaccine is now available.
The WHO recommends HPV vaccines as part of routine vaccinations in all countries. HPV vaccines have been used in Kenya since 2006, but have been out of stock for the last three years. Simply getting the HPV vaccine at age of 10 - 14 (and catching up to 26yrs ) can help protect against certain cancers later in life.
Contact the receptionist to arrange for vaccination.
We recommend the following sites for health information and advice:
- CDC Travellers' Health and CDC Kenya Page offer information on vaccines, medication, and other measures necessary to prevent illness and injury during international travel.
- And in Dutch we recommend the Nederlands Huisartsen Genootschap
